Office of International Affairs of Busan University of Foreign Studies is the core department for promoting the international exchange programs of the university. It promotes and manages sisterhood ties with foreign universities and high schools as well as governments and autonomous organizations, promotes mutual exchange between students and professors, attracts and manages international students.

As of 2026, Busan University of Foreign Studies has signed exchange agreements with 510 educational institutions across 58 countries, strengthening its internationalization capabilities through student exchanges and academic collaboration among faculty members.

In particular, Busan University of Foreign Studies is one of Korea's leading international universities, where 2,258 international students study alongside Korean students. Throughout 2025, the university dispatched students to 68 universities across 23 countries through programs such as the 2+2 Overseas Dual Degree Program and the 3+1 Long-Term Study Abroad Program, providing students with valuable international experience.

The internationalization capabilities of Busan University of Foreign Studies have been recognized in the '2026 QS Asia University Rankings' announced by QS, a global university evaluation organization based in the UK, where the university ranked 3rd among private universities in the Busan region. The university also achieved notable rankings in key internationalization indicators, including 2nd nationwide in the ratio of international faculty, 2nd in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region in the ratio of international students, and 2nd and 3rd respectively in the region for inbound and outbound exchange student ratios.

Based on these achievements, the Office of International Affairs is improving various work systems and systems to first create a ‘university that is good for international students to study’ in order to attract more international students. In addition to improving the work system for international students, we plan to improve the system and promote new programs to increase opportunities for our students to study abroad.
